After rotating in the Harmon Lab, James joined the Freeling Lab. He obtained his PhD in 2012, and then worked as a postdoc in the Brutnell Lab where he was awarded a NSF Plant Genome Postdoctoral Fellowship. James is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
